Introduction
As the m2m space becomes increasingly competitive, our customers have an apparent need to offer innovative new solutions that can clearly differentiate them from the competition. Telit enables an entirely new grade of service experience, providing a strong advantage over conventional m2m offerings.
The initial set of Telit Infinita Services will focus on extending the life of deployed products by updating and maintaining the optimum firmware version in the field, as well as providing an extended Hardware Warranty plan to support the end customer's warranty terms for up to five years. The first two service offerings are:
- Premium FOTA
Management
- Extended Hardware Warranty
Currently, Telit's modules having software version 7.03.xxx and beyond are capable of supporting Telit Infinita Services due to the implementation of RedBend's© FOTA client. The Premium FOTA Management Service substantially increases the operational reliability of m2m applications because potential issues with firmware or mobile network configuration can be rectified remotely. Additionally, new features required by the application developer can be remotely deployed to the units over-the-air, quickly and reliably.
An exceptional benefit of Telit's Infinita Services is the opportunity it provides customers to optimize and reduce the total cost of ownership. With Premium FOTA Management, customers can eliminate the need to physically update units in the field.
As part of the Telit Infinita Services, a certification program was developed to ensure that applications running over the modules can correctly manage the upgrade process. The certification program provides detailed documentation and step-by-step instructions for implementing the communication between the host controller and Telit module ensuring that the over-the-air update process is working correctly. Additionally, Telit's post sales support is available during the implementation phase to answer questions, which may not be covered in the documentation. Once one module has completed the certification program, all of the corresponding modules using the same version of the application can be upgraded over-the-air as required.
All upgrades are scheduled by Telit according to customer need and availability of the upgrade platform. At the end of the process, customers can receive a report providing information on the success and failure of unit upgrades.
An additional benefit for those clients using the dual core Telit GE863-PRO³ module, is the possibility to implement bug fixes or correct malfunctions over-the-air as well as their application firmware.

How will Telit Infinita Services be offered?
Telit Infinita Services will be based on a flat fee model in order to simplify the offering while providing freedom of use as described under the fair usage policy. Additionally, customization of the offering, based on volumes or due to specific conditions, can be applied and negotiated with Telit representatives. Customers who utilize Telit Infinita Services will receive a single invoice listing all of the subscribed services.
